1. The Annie B. Jones quote made me smile

2. Your pictures are beautiful

3. I’ve been thinking so much about how people should be hospitable toward me since I’m the new person that I forgot I could be hospitable too. You reminded me

1. I thought you'd appreciate that. ;) I just couldn't stop thinking about the way she said that, so it had to be included.

2. Thank you, friend!

3. Mmm yes, that's so good! It can be hard to do in the moment sometimes, but I've been finding that even tiny ways of welcoming other people in helps me feel more at home too.

I walked away from the FFW with that sense of spaciousness too. That’s a great way to say it. And what a gift! It makes me want to continue to open my arms wider.

It was such a gift! I expected to feel new, but I didn't expect to be invited in so quickly. Yes, absolutely. I love that picture of opening our arms wider.

Yes! FFW was a great experience. I hope I can make it to the next one, and it would be so fun to meet you there! :) Oo I have not, but I'll add it to my list! Thanks for the recommendation!

1. Such a good read. This practice is kind of overwhelming to see at a whole chunk, but so good.

2. When you mentioned Suzanne Stabile's question, it reminded me of St. Francis' final words to his followers (according to tradition, so who knows): "I have done what was mine to do. May Christ teach you what is yours to do." Such an essential question. And I have a hard time with the reality that we find it out by doing, not by thinking harder at the question.

3. Great to meet you at FFW.

Thanks, Nick! (And so sorry I didn't respond to this sooner!) That's fair that it seems overwhelming at first! I'm very much still learning how to make this a sustainable practice for myself too, but I'm glad I'm trying it. I think any amount of paying attention and putting things into words is helpful.

Yes, so good! It's such an important question. And I agree on the thinking vs. doing piece. It can be hard to make ourselves move forward and trust that is part of the discernment process.

It was great to meet you at FFW too! I hope all is well and you're finding margin to write these days.
